In the air filter box before the air filter is a thermostat (OEM# 1266826) which automatically controls the valve for hot and cold air intake. If the thermostat is broken, warm air is permanently sucked from the exhaust manifold. This can lead to breakdowns, and damage to the air-flow sensor. Please check this component which could be a possible cause for failure of the air-flow sensor.
