Service instructions:
For the B20 motor there are three different thicknesses for the head gaskets, 0.8 - 1.2 - 2 mm. This makes it possible to vary the compression of the engine. 0.8 and 1.2 mm thick gaskets are normally used for double carburetored and injection engines . For the single carburetored engines the 1.2 and 2 mm thick gaskets come into question.
Higher compression ratio (= thinner gasket) usually results in higher performance.
Lower compression (= thicker gasket) results in a smoother running engine, provided the engine is mechanically sound.
Note: The thicker the gasket, the more important it is for the immediate tightening of the cylinder head bolts!
